NC Osteopathic Society is formed. One of its purposes is to restrict the practice of osteopathy to persons educated, trained and graduated from a reputable college of osteopathic medicine. North Carolina General Assembly passes law the same year creating the State Board of Osteopathic Examination and Registration.
