The Medical Board is required to establish a registry of polysomnographic technicians, or sleep techs, pursuant to the Polysomnography Practice Act (NCGS 90-721 et. seq.). Sleep techs who are subject to that law must register before January 1, 2012.

The Medical Board will verify your certification with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) directly. If the NCMB is unable to verify that you are currently credentialed by the BRPT, you may be required to provide a copy of your certificate.
