About the Board

Physician Assistant Advisory Meeting (PAAM)

The Physician Assistant Advisory Meeting (PAAM) advises the NCMB on issues affecting PA practice and regulation in the state. The PAAM meets twice a year, in March and September.

The members of the PAAM are nominated by the Board’s Allied Health Committee and are appointed by vote of the full Board. Members may serve two terms of two years each and may be reappointed by Board action. The PAAM’s members represent the leadership of the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants, the PA Section of the North Carolina Medical Society and each PA training program in North Carolina. The PAAM also includes other PA and physician members chosen for their particular expertise on matters that may come before the Board.
