The board once again has missed the point. Its wording is still threatening and only gives lip service to the care and well being of its licensees. To threaten someone’s means to earn a living is in no way supportive. Especially if a physician is already facing the difficult prospect of being a patient. Physicians, as many of their patients do, recover from illness. A licensee should not be jeopardized in any way for physician illness, unless it has been proven that the physician routinely jeopardizes patients’ well being. Physicians are smart enough to ask for help if their careers are not jeopardized by the board.
