Board updates positons on self-treatment and other topics

The Board updated three position statements, including one that offers guidance on self-treatment and the treatment of family members, at its meeting in July.
In February, NCMB requested licensee feedback on the draft version of Self-Treatment and Treatment of Family Members in February and received several responses from Forum readers.
To address a point some who offered comments raised, it should be noted that the this is an existing position statement first adopted in May 1991, not a new one suggested by the current Board. All positions are reviewed, and revised if needed, on a rolling basis and the self-treatment statement was due. The updated version of the self-treatment position clarifies several points that had resulted in questions from licensees in the past.
