            Quality expert medical reviews are an essential component of the Board’s disciplinary work. They help to establish whether care was within accepted and prevailing standards in North Carolina and thus play a critical role in determining the outcome of cases. More than 350 licensees have registered with the Board as reviewers, and more than 100 completed reviews in 2012. The NCMB extends its sincere thanks to these men and women for their service to the public and to the profession.<br />
