Order relaxes supervision rules for PAs on emergency assignments
At its July 2020 Board Meeting, NCMB issued a Board Order to relax certain supervisory requirements for physician assistants who accept emergency reassignments during the state of emergency related to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The order allows a fully licensed PA to accept an emergency assignment to treat COVID-19 patients without having to maintain written supervisory arrangements. This exception is similar to the exception for out of state PAs who obtain emergency temporary license to assist with an emergency.
