Public Hearing: CME rule changes

NCMB is pursuing rule changes that would require physicians and physician assistants who prescribe controlled substances to complete continuing medical education (CME) hours on the subject of chronic pain management and related topics during each CME cycle.

The rule would take effect Jan. 1, 2017, if finally approved by the NC Rules Review Commission. By statute, NCMB is required to hold a public hearing to accept comment on the proposed rule changes. The hearing is scheduled for July 14 at 10 a.m. at NCMB’s offices at 1203 Front Street in Raleigh.

If you cannot attend but would like to provide comment, send feedback to the Board at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) by end of business on Friday, July 15.  Please be sure to indicate whether you support or object to the rule changes.
