Hydrocodone combo products soon to be Schedule II drugs

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration has published final rules that move hydrocodone combination products or HCPs from Schedule III to the more restrictive Schedule II. The rescheduling will be in effect as of October 6.

HCPs are drugs that contain both hydrocodone, which by itself is a Schedule II drug, and specified amounts of other substances, such as acetaminophen or aspirin.
