Hearing on pending rule changes: March 16

The NCMB will hold a public hearing on two proposed rule changes at the Board’s offices at 1203 Front Street in Raleigh on March 16 at 10 a.m.

One rule changes would allow the NC Controlled Substances Reporting System to periodically report information on outlier prescribers in the state of North Carolina to the Board, to permit the Board to be more proactive in its efforts to identify, investigate and, where necessary, intervene in instances of substandard opioid prescribing.

The second rule change would modify the current CME requirement for physician assistants so that it mirrors the CME requirement of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
