Board Meetings

The full Board meets in January, March, May, July, September, and November. These meetings typically last 2.5 days and include committee meetings and interviews, as well as disciplinary and licensing activities. Occasionally, the Board holds special meetings to discuss pressing issues that arise between scheduled meetings. Though some Board business, such as meetings to discuss investigative or complaint information, is confidential under law, Board meetings are otherwise open to the public and media.

Board Hearings

The Board holds hearings in February, June, October, and December. Hearings may be conducted before a quorum or panel of the Board and are formal trial-like proceedings that ensure due process for respondents or petitioners interacting with the North Carolina Medical Board.  Click here to learn more about the hearing process.
