Did you know that you can register for access to the NC Controlled Substances Reporting System (NCCSRS) while completing your annual NCMB license renewal? NCMB offers a streamlined, online registration process to make it easier for licensees to sign up to use this important resource. Licensees may register for access during annual renewal by entering their DEA number, an email address and a proposed password.

A 2016-2016 state budget provision will eventually require all prescribers with a valid DEA registration to register for access with the NCCSRS. NCCSRS maintains a database of all controlled substances dispensed in outpatient settings across NC. NCMB encourages licensees to use this data to help make responsible prescribing decisions and identify patients who may be diverting and/or abusing controlled substances.

Don't want to wait until renewal to register?

NCMB's online NCCSRS registration is also available 24-7 through the Board's Licensee Information portal. To register, click here, log in and select Training & CSRS.
