Assistant Medical Director - PA

The Assistant Medical Director - PA is responsible for assisting Medical Board staff, the CMO, and the Board in investigating, reviewing, and providing detailed written reports on a wide range of matters that involve quality of care, ethical, and professionalism concerns, and making recommendations to the Board regarding those matters. The Assistant Medical Director is available to support various Board projects and initiatives in consultation with the CMO and works collaboratively with the CMO in all matters related to the Department’s work.

Associate Medical Director - Physician

The Associate Medical Director - Physician is responsible for supporting the Chief Medical Officer and the OMD staff in reviewing and providing detailed written reports on a wide range of matters that involve quality of care, ethical, and professionalism concerns, and making recommendations to the Board regarding those matters. The Associate Medical Director, under the direction of the CMO, provides guidance and oversight of the Department’s case review process and helps guide the Assistant Medical Director in this work. The Associate Medical Director is available to support various Board projects and initiatives in consultation with the CMO and works collaboratively with the CMO in all matters related to the Department’s work.

Medical Records Coordinator

Candidates will work in a fast-paced team environment alongside Medical Board staff to ensure that all medical records requested for ongoing Medical Board investigations are received in their entirety. Once received, the records must be thoroughly reviewed, organized, and prepared in a manner that allows key documents to be easily located during medical record reviews for Complaints, Investigations, and Malpractice cases submitted to the North Carolina Medical Board. This role includes organizing, reviewing, and bookmarking medical records within a PDF platform to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency of documentation. The position supports the Office of Medical Reviewers by preparing well-structured record packets that facilitate efficient and comprehensive clinical review.

Candidate must be highly personable and skilled on the telephone, able to work in a team environment, possess competent computer and administrative skills, and have experience in obtaining medical records for the purpose of evaluating or ensuring quality of care rendered by health care professionals.

Credentialing Coordinator

This position will provide full administrative support for applicants trying to obtain a license as a physician, physician assistant, and a handful of other medical professionals in the state of North Carolina. In this role, the Credentialing Coordinator is responsible for screening applications and supporting documentation to determine eligibility and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Duties also include ensuring each application moves efficiently through the licensure process for appropriate review.

A Credentialing Coordinator plays a critical role in the licensure process. We are looking for an individual with high emotional intelligence and excellent customer service skills to join the NCMB licensing team. A successful candidate must be detail-oriented, organized, able to work independently, adaptable to change, and has outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. New hires are eligible for our robust benefits package upon their start date. This position may require mandatory overtime during certain times of the year.
