Show MoreThe Board’s RTL application review process does not begin until the license application fee is paid and the GME Office has finalized the application on their side. GMEs will typically collect all the necessary documentation for submission which can take up to a month. Additional delays occur if the applicant is missing information or if the applicant has not reviewed comments in their gateway account.
Application used by physicians preparing to enter a graduate medical education (GME) program or fellowship, and who have passed USMLE Step 1 or COMLEX 1 within three attempts on each step.
If an applicant has taken USMLE Steps 2 and 3 or COMLEX 2 and 3, the examination must have been passed within 3 attempts.

To begin a license application, applicants must first register for an NCMB Licensure Gateway account. Save your credentials – you will need to login to check the status of your application and to manage your information once licensed.
