About the Board

Perfusionist Advisory Committee Meetings

The Perfusionist Advisory Committee (PAC) may conduct investigations into alleged violations of the Perfusion Licensure Act, and if necessary, conduct disciplinary hearings to determine the validity of any allegations that a perfusionist may have violated the Act. The PAC currently holds meetings twice a year.

PAC Member Terms

  • The terms for Dr. Hines, Mr. Shearer and Mr. Gannotta ended on October 31, 2010.
  • Mr. Shearer’s & Dr. Hines’s requests for reappointments will be considered by the North Carolina Medical Board at its November meeting.
  • Mr. Gannotta is not seeking reappointment to the Committee.  A request for his successor has been sent to the NCHA.

Rule Changes

  • Addition of immigration status requirement – This requirement will bring the perfusionists into conformity with the physicians & physician assistants as far as having their immigration status checked.

Renewal

  • Proposed changes to the renewal letter

  • The Licensing Review Workgroup has made changes to the questions and other forms on the MD/DO application.  These changes will be made to all NCMB license applications.  Please review the changes.

(3) Closed portions are to consider the qualifications, competence, performance, character, fitness, conditions of appointment, or conditions of initial employment of an individual public officer or employee or prospective public officer or employee.
