Background check requirement to resume
At its July meeting, NCMB voted to dissolve a March 31, 2020, order that temporarily suspended background checks for license applicants.
This temporary measure was put in place because fingerprinting services were not readily available during much of 2020. The effective date of this dissolution is August 31, 2021. Any license application submitted on or after September 1, 2021, will need to complete a background check in order to fulfill the requirements for licensure. Applicants during the month of August are encouraged to obtain a background check, pending availability in their area.
Any licensee granted a license since March 31, 2020, without a background check will be required to complete one in order to maintain their license status. NCMB will contact affected licensees with additional information.
