NCMB extends expiration date for emergency temp licenses

In light of the anticipated duration of the COVID-19 pandemic, NCMB has extended the expiration dates of certain emergency temporary licenses issued during the declared state of emergency. The decision extends the timeline for emergency licenses issued to 30 days after the current state of emergency is lifted.

This change will allow anyone with a Limited Emergency License (namely, out-of-state clinicians who have obtained temporary licensure to assist in North Carolina) to have a ‘wind down’ period before his or her license to practice medicine in North Carolina expires.

Read the order authorizing the extension.
