Registering to complete online death certificates: Step-by-step guidance from NC DHHS
Senior NCMB staff recently met with officials with the NC Department of Health and Human Services (NC DHHS) to share the challenges that some licensees are experiencing with getting registered for the state’s online death certificate portal.
NC DHHS has shared a document that provides step-by-step guidance for getting registered with the NC Database for Vital Events (DAVE), the online system anyone who completes death certificates must use to certify deaths. “Medical certifiers” may include physicians, physician assistants or nurse practitioners.
NC DHHS indicated that it has hired additional staff to provide assistance to physicians, PAs and others who need help getting set to use NC DAVE. Requests for help should be emailed to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) for the fastest response.
NOTE: If you do not see your practice or facility listed on the NC DAVE registration page, be sure to email a request to have it added.
