Infographic shows progress of Safe Opioid Prescribing Initiative
NCMB has created an infographic that shows progress to date of the Board’s opioid investigations program, the Safe Opioid Prescribing Initiative (SOPI). Data reflect investigations completed as of November 2016.
Launched in April 2016, SOPI investigates licensees who meet criteria established by the Board. The program looks at licensees who prescribe large numbers of high dose opioid prescriptions, as well as licensees who have had two or more patients die of opioid overdose within a 12 month period.
