Update on IMLC, ITPE physician license applications
NCMB is now a member of the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact and is accepting applications both from physicians outside of NC who are currently licensed in another Compact state and from licensed NC physicians seeking IMLC licensure in other Compact states. Both types of applicants must begin the process by registering with the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact Commission.
NCMB is not yet able to accept applications for the new Internationally Trained Physician Employee Licensure. This license type offers certain internationally trained physicians who otherwise would not qualify for licensure in NC to work in a licensed NC hospital or in a physician practice in a rural county with on site supervision by a US-trained physician. NCMB will begin accepting applications for the ITPE license later in January.
