Administrative rules on PA team-based practice, other topics, approved

The NC Rules Review Commission recently gave final approval to four sets of administrative rules. Review the final text online by clicking the title of the rule.

TEAMS-BASED PRACTICE SETTINGS – This rule sets out the criteria for a PA to engage in PA team-based practice in North Carolina, as authorized by Session Law 2025-37/HB67.

CONVERSION APPLICATION FOR PHYSICIAN LICENSES – This rule allows current North Carolina resident training license (RTL) holders in good standing to convert their RTL to a full medical license.

INTERNATIONALLY TRAINED PHYSICIAN EMPLOYEE LICENSE – This rule details criteria for physicians interested in applying for the Internationally Trained Physician Employee (ITPE) license, as authorized by Session Law 2025-37/HB67.

PHARMACISTS VACCINATIONS AND ADMINISTRATION OF LONG-ACTING INJECTABLES – This rule adopted by the Medical Board and Board of Pharmacy facilitate adoption of standing orders of the State Health Director related to Session Law 2025-37/HB67 that authorizes pharmacists to test for and initiate treatment for influenza.
