Image for Coming soon to North Carolina: IMLC On January 1, North Carolina will officially become a member of the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact. This will allow physicians licensed in other Compact states to obtain a North Carolina medical license through a streamlined application process. It will also allow North Carolina physicians the opportunity to obtain licensure in other Compact states.

How does this all work and how could it impact North Carolina physicians and their patients?

NCMB seeks to provide some answers with a recent episode of its podcast, MedBoard Matters, which features an interview with the executive director of the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact Commission, the organization that oversees the IMLC.
